A nonviolent demonstration in support of creating constitutional courts and amending the constitution took place in Chishtian.
At the demonstration outside the Chishtian Press Club, which was coordinated by the Pakistan Media Council, student organizations, and representatives of civil society, demonstrators called for judicial changes.
The current legal system was challenged by participants, who said it was unfair to the poor. They drew attention to the protracted backlog of cases in higher courts that are frequently left unresolved for years.
Protesters contended that the judiciary appears to be more preoccupied with political and constitutional cases than with matters that immediately affect the average person.
The protesters, brandishing placards and shouting slogans in support of constitutional modifications, demanded prompt reforms to guarantee prompt justice for all, particularly the impoverished.
