The idea that former US ambassador Donald Trump would do anything to help PTI founder Imran Khan was “fundamentally misguided,” according to former Pakistani diplomat Husain Haqqani, because Trump has always put himself first.
He stated during his appearance on Tuesday’s episode of News Insight with Amir Zia that although Trump calls a number of people his friends, including Kim Jong-un of North Korea, this does not imply that the US will start backing Kim in North Korea.
Haqqani continued by saying that he does not see why Trump would be interested in Pakistani matters if the US has no interest in the nation.
