EasyJet reports record earnings as passenger volume and airfares soar.
EasyJet is one of the airlines that has halted service to Israel as a result of Hamas's unprecedented strike over the weekend. All flights from Tel Aviv have been cancelled, with operations delayed until October 17 at the latest. This summer, EasyJet recorded a record profit as demand from the pandemic continues to recover. The low-cost carrier projects its earnings before taxes to range from £650 million to £670 million for the months of July through September.When compared to the same period last year, the number of passengers has increased by 8%, while the cost of travel has increased by 9%. EasyJet informed investors in an update that it intends to start paying dividends again in the first part of 2019. 10% of yearly profits after taxes will be paid to shareholders at first.
