According to a senior defense official who spoke to Fox News, the U.S. Navy shot down anti-ship ballistic missiles fired by incoming Houthi missiles backed by Iran on Tuesday in the Red Sea, indicating a major escalation in the area. Iran had supplied the Houthis in Yemen with three ballistic missiles, which the Navy shot down. According to officials, it was the first time the Navy had intercepted an approaching anti-ship ballistic missile during combat.
