The persona of Stokes Rule doesn’t want a relationship and takes his profession seriously. He is seduced by his boyhood buddy Shaw (played by Sydney Taylor), who has long had emotions for him. Reluctantly, Rule begins dating her, and the two deal with a lot of drama.
“Shaw, a pre-med student, has loved Rule, a rebellious tattoo artist, for years, but he’s only ever seen her as a family friend,” the synopsis says. They are tested to see if love between two people from such different cultures can last after one unrestrained night, when they must face suppressed emotions while juggling loss, family expectations, and commitment anxiety.
Nick Cassavetes, the director of Marked Men: Rule & Shaw, also directed the classic 2004 film starring Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams.
