The renowned singer gushed about its Cleveland-based Hall chairman in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, saying, “I can thank John Sykes and David Geffen, my friend and the most wonderful person ever.”
“I’m going to have some words to say,” she replied. “I’m going accept it as me.”
This is a significant departure from the 77-year-old’s previous stance, in which she declared that she would not be inducted, stating, “I was going to say something else… I was ready to give you a ! I’m not going to have second thoughts. They are free to do as they like.”
