Anjum Aqeel and Khurram Nawaz, two members of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) who are seeking a change in the Islamabad Election Tribunal, have been instructed by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to submit modified applications today.
The orders were given at a hearing in which Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) nominee Shoaib Shaheen expressed dissatisfaction with the way the tribunal had handled the case.
Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja stated during the proceedings that the Commission will carry out its duties in accordance with the law and the constitution, regardless of any objections or wrongdoing. “Even if someone abuses us, we will continue to work according to the constitution and law,” he declared, answering the claims of bias.
