Following accusations that she objected to money given to an LGBT youth charity whose former head had been implicated in a child abuse controversy, the chair of the Children in Need charity resigned.
The organization was accused of “institutional failure” by writer and broadcaster Rosie Millard in her resignation letter, which was made public by the Times.
Millard took issue with the £466,000 given to LGBT Youth Scotland (LGBTYS), a nonprofit organization that assists young gay and transgender individuals.
James Rennie, its previous leader, was found guilty of child sex assault in 2009. Seven months later, with new management in place, Children In Need started giving out funds.
