Following US President Donald Trump’s announcement that he will levy an additional 10% tariff on Chinese imports, China pledged on Friday to take “all necessary countermeasures.”
Trump’s latest action will exacerbate a developing trade war between the two biggest economies in the world when it takes effect on Tuesday along with sweeping 25% charges on imports from Canada and Mexico.
The 10% tariff on Chinese imports will be in addition to the same-rate tax that Trump already levied on China earlier this month.
