Violent protests broke out in a city in northwest China when a teenage boy died, according to authenticated footage reported by the news.
Social media footage show protesters in Pucheng, Shaanxi province, throwing things at police and cops punching several protesters.
According to authorities, the kid died in an accident in his school dormitory on January 2. However, claims that there had been a cover-up started to circulate on social media after his passing.
Soon after, protests broke out, lasted for a few days, and then were reportedly put down earlier this week. Since then, there has been no additional news coverage of protests in Pucheng.
