When Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang visited Islamabad for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit, he had a crucial meeting with Pakistan’s top military leadership.
Prime Minister Li met with the head of Pakistan’s armed forces and the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee in a high-level meeting. The strategic alliance that has been the cornerstone of regional stability was reaffirmed by both parties as being committed to further strengthening and growing it.
During the meeting, a number of important topics were discussed, such as defense cooperation and counterterrorism initiatives. In addition to recognizing the military’s accomplishments and sacrifices in preserving regional peace and security, Prime Minister Li commended Pakistan’s military for playing a critical role in the war against terrorism.
