On Tuesday, Chinese Premier Li Qiang paid a visit to Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari and reiterated China’s pledge to keep funding and collaborating strategically with Pakistan.
Premier Li and President Zardari met, and afterward, a joint statement was made highlighting the “deep and enduring friendship” between the two countries.
Amidst a stringent security lockdown in Islamabad, Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang came in Pakistan on Monday for a bilateral visit and a heads-of-government meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization this week.
According to the PM’s Office, Li is the first Chinese premier to visit Pakistan in eleven years. Li was met by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at the Nur Khan Airbase in Rawalpindi.
