General Li Qiaoming, the Commander of the Ground Forces of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) in China, received the Nishan-e-Imtiaz (military) title from President Asif Ali Zardari on Tuesday. This accolade is given in appreciation of General Li Qiaoming’s meritorious services and major contributions to improving Sino-Pak defense cooperation.
Aiwan-e-Sadr hosted a special investiture ceremony where Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, military chiefs, diplomats, and lawmakers were present to receive the medal.
General Li’s outstanding professional talents, persistent commitment to duty, and amazing leadership were acknowledged in the citation given at the event.
As a token of appreciation for his outstanding contributions to strengthening defense cooperation with Pakistan, the president has bestowed upon him the title of Nishan-e-Imtiaz (Military).
