The Marvel actor took a hiatus from performing soon after learning in 2022 that he has a strong hereditary tendency to Alzheimer’s disease. The two pieces of information combined to spark reports that he was retiring or that the illness had already taken hold of him, which he now claims was quite distressing to hear.
