According to a forecast released Wednesday by the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the existing cold wave that is affecting the whole country, including Karachi, is expected to get worse during the second week of January 2025.
Sardar Sarfaraz, the PMD’s chief meteorologist, stated in an interview with Geo News that “cold may increase in the second week of January.”
“The country is likely to receive less snowfall and rains during this winter season [as compared to the previous years],” he added, predicting that parts of Balochistan would have light showers from January 3 to January 5.
The meteorological expert’s comments coincide with other instances this month in which the nation’s financial center has seen temperatures fall to single digits.
