With amber cold weather health advisories in effect ahead of a weekend of snow predicted for much of the country, temperatures have fallen as colder arctic air moves across the UK.
Over the course of three days, the Met Office has issued yellow warnings for snow and ice in a large portion of England, Wales, and portions of Scotland. Cold weather is expected to persist throughout Monday.
Following extensive flooding in the northwest of England caused by strong winds and heavy rain that swept across much of the UK, separate ice warnings are in effect on Thursday and Friday.
