ANF and Da Haq Awaz have started an emergency program in Peshawar to treat drug addicts who are living on the streets. Addicts receive medical care, coupled with extensive training consisting of physical exercises and psychological therapy, for a duration of three months.
The Pakistan Army is aggressively working to eradicate drugs from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in cooperation with pertinent agencies.
After treatment is finished, a ceremony is performed where patients thank the respective institutions’ authorities and their families. “I am grateful to everyone who treated me,” said one patient, highlighting the significance of abstaining from narcotics and putting family first.
When considering the difficulty of reintegrating long-term addicts, doctors expressed satisfaction in their effective recovery.
