As I read, I learned that the National Health Services, Regulation and Coordination (NHSRC) is one of the five federal ministries/divisions that the committee opted to target during its third meeting. This is why it gave me a déjà vu feeling.
2011 saw the repeal of the Federal Ministry of Health (MoH) due to the 18th Constitutional Amendment.
The idea behind devolution was to give the provinces more authority over 17 other issues, including healthcare, since it was believed that the federal government had very little influence in this area.
Following this, a disorganized fragmentation of the federal government resulted from the relocation of the majority of federal institutions to the provinces and the retention of some, which were divided among the nine federal ministries and divisions. The National Institute of Population Studies was assigned to the Ministry of Planning, the National Institute of Health and the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) were placed under the Cabinet Division, and the national immunization program (EPI) was given to the Ministry for Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC); the polio program, on the other hand, was given to the PM Office.
