KARACHI: Authorities have increased security around the airport by closing roads, which has essentially caused annoyance for travelers, weeks after two Chinese nationals were killed in a suicide assault close to the Karachi airport.
Checkpoints have been positioned along the routes leading from Star Gate and Pehlwan Goth to Jinnah Terminal, according to police officials, who also added that security has been increased surrounding the airport.
In addition, traffic has been rerouted to Sharea Faisal due to the closure of the road that leads from Model Colony to Jinnah Terminal.
Following news reports that the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) is planning to implement more stringent admission restrictions as part of steps to increase security at the nation’s megacity airport, the development occurred.
