The results of an investigation reveal that informal concerns made about Russell Brand during his time hosting Big Brother spin-off programs were “not properly escalated or adequately addressed.”.
Between 2004 and 2008, the comedian and actor hosted several Channel episodes, including Big Brother’s Big Mouth and Big Brother’s Celebrity Hijack.
According to a production company’s Banijay UK probe, managers were made aware of claims that he made female crew members feel uneasy or intimidated and that he requested employees’ phone numbers.
It did state that no formal complaints were filed and that the issues were not taken further.
“We sincerely apologize to anyone who was affected by this behavior and felt unable to speak up or that their voice was ignored,” Banijay stated.
During an investigation conducted in September of last year, news programs all accused Brand of rape, assault, and emotional abuse.
He vehemently refuted the accusations, claiming that his partnerships have “always” been amicable.
According to a former TV researcher cited in a Sunday Times investigation, production managers were informed about Brand’s approach to audience members for sex, but they disregarded their worries.
