ISLAMABAD The appointment of Pervez Khattak, a former close aide of Imran Khan, the founding chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), to the federal cabinet has drawn criticism from several PML-N officials.
PML-N leader Ikhtiar Wali stated on the news show Pakistan that certain party members were unhappy with Khatakk’s inclusion in the cabinet. Khatakk was the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the minister of defense during PTI’s separate terms.
He disclosed that several PML-N leaders have avoided interacting with Khattak for the last 15 to 16 years because of political disagreements.
Additionally, Wali asserted that there was a growing belief within the PML-N that people who did not reside in Punjab were frequently marginalized inside the party.
