Three weeks before taking on Paul in Texas, Tyson, whose professional career came to an end in 2005, would turn fifty-eight.
In his tenth professional bout, Paul, 27, defeated Ryan Bourland last month.
“This is referred to as an exhibition, yet none of the regulations that the fighters would be competing under will appear if you search for “exhibition.” It’s a fight, Tyson declared.
The competition, which, if it’s an exhibition, won’t count toward their professional records, will stream live on Netflix.
With 80,000 seats, Arlington’s AT&T Stadium, home of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys, will host the event.
The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR), which authorizes boxing events in the state, said news Sport that although the promoter had submitted a request to organize an event on that day, no fights or additional information had been provided.
