With millions of Pakistanis still struggling to pay skyrocketing utility bills, the Power Division has announced that fuel modifications will save customers’ electricity costs by up to Rs2.65 (tax included) in September.
According to a statement released by the Power Division on Wednesday, fuel price changes in the bills for the current month resulted in a decrease in power rates of Rs2.93 per unit; in contrast, quarterly adjustments caused a rise of Rs1.74 per unit.
When these changes are combined, household and agricultural customers consuming up to 300 units will receive a relief of Rs. 2.19 per unit in their September bills, while other consumers will receive Rs. 2.65 per unit (tax included), it stated.
