After seeing Glen Nevis and Glencoe, Tom Parry, 49, and his 12-year-old son Richie were scheduled to travel home to their Cheshire home on Wednesday.
The Three Sisters car park in Glencoe, where they had parked the day before to go hillwalking, is where their car was discovered.
Police Scotland provided an update on Thursday, stating that two bodies had been discovered on Wednesday night following an area search.
According to a military spokesman, “They have not yet been formally recognized. But the Cheshire family of Tom Parry, 49, and his son Richie Parry, 12, who had been reported missing in the region, have been informed.”
Although investigations are ongoing, according to the police, “no apparent suspicious circumstances” exist.
In due order, a report will be sent in to the Procurator Fiscal.
Inspector Craig Johnstone stated: “We are thinking about everyone who is affected. I express my gratitude to all emergency services and volunteer mountain rescue personnel.
