ISLAMABAD: Raghib Hussain Naeemi, the chairman of the Council of Islamic Ideology (CII), has emphasized that Sharia should be followed when making decisions about marriage and marriage annulment.
The declaration is made in light of a recent Supreme Court verdict that Naeemi has deemed to be un-Islamic and that gives the first wife the authority to end the marriage if the husband remarries without her consent.
According to The News on Saturday, Naeemi reaffirmed that Sharia does not prohibit a man’s ability to get married for the second, third, or fourth time while speaking at a training event for judges organized by the Sharia Academy.
According to him, it is against Islamic teachings to punish someone for getting married again without the approval of the Reconciliation Council.
