A fuel charge adjustment (FCA) for September 2024 is expected to reduce energy bills for consumers by Rs0.70 per unit.
In the FCAs for Distribution Companies (Discos) for the same month, the Central Power Purchasing Agency-Guaranteed (CPPA-G) has suggested a negative adjustment of Rs0.70 per unit, which could give customers a total return of about Rs8.55 billion.
On October 30, 2024, a public hearing is planned by the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) to address CPPA-G’s proposal for changes to the Disco prices.
According to data provided to NEPRA, hydel generation produced 4,838 GWh of power between May and September 2024, accounting for 38.75% of total electricity generation. Coal-fired power stations in the area provided 1,261 GWh.
