Cyclone Asna’s threat has drastically decreased, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), since the storm has moved far away from Karachi’s coastline region.
The cyclone, which had previously caused alarm, is currently located roughly 500 km southeast of Karachi, 350 km south and southeast of Ormara, and 260 km southeast of Gwadar, according to the PMD.
Over the next 24 hours, Karachi is predicted to see light rain or drizzle, even after the storm has passed. In the port city, the PMD predicts that the sky will stay partly cloudy with sporadic light showers.
The weather service reported that the cyclone’s powerful winds have diminished, with the northeastern wind speed currently measured at 12 km/h.
