KARACHI: The Dawoodi Bohra community’s congregations opened on Monday when Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin, their leader, gave the first sermon of “Ashara Mubaraka” at Taheri Masjid in Saddar.
Speaking to an assembly of more than eighty thousand people, Syedna declared that the ten sermons that will be delivered during the Muharram congregations would center around comparisons and parables from the Prophetic traditions and the Holy Quran.
He discussed several hadith of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) in the speech, emphasizing the importance of conviction, self-improvement, and achievement.
He used the Prophet’s (PBUH) remark that a honeybee “consumes only that which is pure, and gives back only that which is pure” as an example.
