Following the acquittal of Metropolitan Police marksman Martyn Blake of murder and the lifting of reporting limitations by Judge Mr. Justice Goss, the 24-year-old’s gang affiliations, prior convictions, and violent background can now be disclosed for the first time.
Kaba, 24, opened fire on the dance floor of The Oval Space in Hackney, east London, then on the road outside as the victim attempted to flee in the early hours of August 30, 2022, shooting Brandon Malutshi twice in the leg with a pistol.
On the street, Kaba is known as “Itch.” He had driven the same Audi Q8 to the scene on the evening of September 5, 2022, when he tried to elude police in Streatham, south London, and was shot in the head by Mr. Blake, 40.
In a legal argument not before the jury in Mr. Blake’s murder trial, the Old Bailey was informed that the same car was connected to a shooting in Bromley, southeast London, on May 22, 2022, in which two individuals were shot.
The night before Kaba was slain, three masked men fired a shotgun twice at unidentified targets outside a Brixton school, and jurors found that the Audi was one of two escape vehicles.
