KARACHI: The number of victims killed in the Hyderabad cylinder explosion event has now reached seven after another victim died away in the Burns Ward of Civil Hospital.
The management of the government hospital told Geo News on Friday that nine additional people are in critical condition and that the death toll from the Hyderabad cylinder bomb incident has risen to seven as one more injured person passed away today.
In Hyderabad’s Paretabad neighborhood, a large explosion at a shop that refills Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders on Thursday left dozens of people injured, including women and children.
Following the deadly explosion at the LPG shop, a great number of individuals were affected by fire, which resulted in a high mortality rate.
Leaders of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) denounced the egregious neglect today during a press conference in Hyderabad.
Syed Waseem Hussain, a member of the MQM-P National Assembly (MNA), claimed that the Paretabad event was caused by the carelessness of “our own people.”
In the Paretabad district, which has a population of nearly 600,000, Waseem accused the local administration of closing a fire station while six out of eleven firefighting vehicles were non-operational.
Nasir Qureshi, a different MQM-P leader, claimed that the Hyderabad government disregarded his party’s pleas to fix the problem that may lead to similar tragedies.
He insisted on the filing of a First Information Report (FIR) against Hyderabad Mayor Kashif Shoro of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).
Another loud explosion occurred around 6:00 p.m. while workers were moving toward the store to put out the flames following the first incident, which engulfed the shop in flames and started another fire in some adjacent houses and shops in the densely populated area of the city.
