Evidence about the business’s safety culture and manufacturing standards was presented to a Congressional committee on Wednesday. The company was shook in January after a mid-air incident involving an Alaska Airlines 737 MAX 9 aircraft resulted in a panel burst.
Regarding Boeing’s 787 Dreamliner—of which British Airways is one of the carriers operating more than 1,000—he claimed that undue force was employed to press fuselage pieces together.
He asserted that the additional force might weaken the carbon composite material used to make the plane’s frame.
He finished, saying, “They are putting out defective airplanes,” and said he was threatened when he voiced his concerns.
