Defense Minister Khawaja Asif expressed hope that “justice will prevail” ahead of the decision in the high-profile £190 million case against Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi, the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), which an accountability court is scheduled to declare tomorrow.
While charges had been leveled against previous leaders, Asif claimed that the events of the PTI’s administration were “unprecedented” during a press conference in Sialkot on Sunday.
Regarding the £190 million settlement case, also referred to as the Al-Qadir Trust issue, the senior leader of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) claimed that the settlement funds were sent to Pakistan by the National Crime Agency (NCA) of the United Kingdom. Instead, the money was purportedly utilized by the then-premier Khan to create the Al-Qadir Trust and buy land.
