On his Wednesday night show, “Late Night” host Seth Meyers made fun of the Democratic Party’s incapacity to come up with memorable catchphrases and pleaded with them to “Please suck less.”
When President Biden won the New Hampshire write-in primary, his campaign released new merchandise. The new merchandise, many of which have the phrase “Together, we will defeat Donald Trump, again,” suggests that Biden is getting ready for a rematch with the former president Trump.
Meyers uttered the new motto, then shook his head dramatically and buried his face in his hands in frustration.
He said, “Democrats, why are you so bad at this stuff?” “That’s not a catchphrase. That is akin to writing an affirmation on the mirror in your bathroom.”
James Carville predicts that if Trump is “treated like a normal candidate,” he will win the election. Slogans don’t contain several punctuation marks. Something like ‘Let’s go’ or ‘Vote or die’ is a slogan. He joked, “This sentence is so awkward that you think, ‘Oh, it must spell out a cool acronym, and then it doesn’t.”
“Moreover, you cannot conclude your catchphrase with a “again,” given that Trump’s “Make America Great Again” catchphrase concludes with one,” Meyers remarked.
He implored, “Democrats, I’m begging you, please suck less,” before joking that the Biden campaign would be better served by adopting that phrase in 2024.
“Oh, that’s not too bad,” he made a joke. “‘Democrats: we suck less.'”
