A spokesman for the health department claims that there has been an increase in dengue fever cases in Punjab, with 27 new cases registered in the past 24 hours.
Nineteen of the newly reported cases came from Rawalpindi. Bahawalpur, Chakwal, and Lahore all reported two incidents apiece. Punjab has seen 81 dengue cases in the last seven days.
According to a representative for the health department, “447 dengue cases have been reported in the province so far this year.”
According to the Health Department, all preparations for the anti-dengue measures have been finished. “All government hospitals have sufficient stocks of medicines, including those needed for dengue treatment,” the spokeswoman noted.
In order to assist reduce the spread of mosquitoes, health officials are advising the public to take precautionary actions including getting rid of standing water and applying repellents.
