A stay order has been issued by the Peshawar High Court to stop a group of Afghan musicians from being forcibly repatriated to Afghanistan.
After a hearing on a petition contesting their possible deportation and requesting asylum, the court released its ruling in a two-page temporary order.
The musicians would be shielded from deportation until a decision is made.
The Afghan musicians’ appeal, which raised worries about their safety and wellbeing, urged against their forced repatriation to Afghanistan. These issues were directly addressed by the court’s interim injunction, which offered vital short-term protection.
