On Thursday, the Coalition For Women In Journalism in London presented British-Pakistani journalist Saima Mohsin with the Kathy Gannon Legacy Award.
The award honors the dedication and services of a seasoned correspondent who faithfully covered some of the most important stories of her day. It also seeks to recognize female journalists who carry on Mohsin’s legacy.
On its official website, the CFWIJ also stated that Mohsin “exemplifies the values of the Kathy Gannon Legacy Awards, demonstrating the importance of tenacity and commitment in journalism.”
Mohsin’s injury sustained while on duty in Jerusalem and subsequent termination from her position are well-known. After that, the journalist vowed to speak out against the injustice she had experienced.
