ISLAMABAD: To say goodbye to departing Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa, Justice Mansoor Ali Shah blasted the senior puisne judge for being “complacent and indifferent to external pressure on the judiciary” during his tenure. The judge skipped a full court reference.
At a ceremony on September 17, 2023, CJP Isa took the oath of office as the 29th Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP), with his wife, Sarina Isa, standing by his side.
A Special Parliamentary Committee (SPC) appointed Justice Yahya Afridi, who will take the oath of office as the next chief justice tomorrow (Saturday).
The CJP if the 26th Amendment hadn’t been passed, Justice Shah, wrote to the Supreme Court Registrar.
