KARACHI: On the first day of Ramadan, people in practically every section of Karachi were left high and dry after natural gas vanished from stoves, despite the Sui Southern Gas Company’s (SSGC) lofty vows to guarantee a “uninterrupted gas supply” during the holy month.
A few days prior, the gas provider had promised in a public statement that there would be a continuous supply of gas for the preparation of Iftar and Sehri.
According to the plan, throughout Ramadan, gas would be available from 3:30 pm to 10 pm for Iftaar meals and from 3 am to 9 am for Sehri (pre-dawn meals).
The SSGC has previously stated, “We wish our esteemed customers a blessed Ramadan and would like to assure them of an uninterrupted gas supply for Sehri and Iftaar preparations.”
