Kristen Stewart apparently has conflicting views about her role in the mega-hit Twilight franchise.
During a candid interview with Rolling Stone, the acting star stated that the original persona of Bella Swan differed greatly from what was depicted in the films.
The Spencer alum recounted her part in the movie series, saying, “The studio was trying to make a movie for kids.”
She went on to clarify, “They didn’t want the original book. “When do Bella and Edward ever smile?”
Robert Pattinson’s ex-girlfriend also stated that Bella’s character was far less “upbeat and cheerful” in Stephanie Meyer’s novels.
This follows an earlier interview with Variety in which the 33-year-old discussed the strange ramifications of the fantasy film’s narrative.
Kristen told the newspaper, “I can only see it now.”
“I don’t think it necessarily started off that way, but I also think that the fact that I was there at all, it was percolating,” she said.
“It’s all about oppression and seeking something that would destroy you. “That’s a very Gothic, gay inclination that I love,” the actress said in the end.
