The amendment bill, which was introduced by Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, sought to change the regulations pertaining to the length of service of the heads of the army, navy, and air force.
A supplemental agenda was used to present these legislation during a National Assembly session.
According to the Army Act Amendment Bill of 1952, the army chief will not be impacted by the retirement regulations that apply to generals in the Pakistan Army and may remain in their position even after being reappointed or extended.
