US musician Jay-Z has responded to a lawsuit that claims he and Sean “Diddy” Combs drugged and sexually assaulted a 13-year-old girl during a party in 2000.
The anonymous complainant claims that an unidentified female celebrity was there when she was raped at a home party following the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) in New York.
Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, called the lawsuit a “blackmail attempt” in a statement.
Mr. Combs, who was charged with sex trafficking and other offenses in September and is currently incarcerated pending trial, disputed the most recent charge.
Mr. Carter was added as a defendant in the action, which was first filed in October and refiled on Sunday.
