ISLAMABAD: As part of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s national digital strategy that encompasses the economy, society, and governance, the federal government on Monday introduced the Digital Nation Pakistan Bill in the National Assembly.
The measure was introduced in parliament by Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Minister of State for IT and Telecommunication.
By encouraging a vibrant digital society, a strong digital economy, and effective digital governance, the bill seeks to make Pakistan a digitally enabled country.
The bill aims to improve public service delivery, modernize governance for more openness and efficacy, and accelerate sustainable development while acknowledging the potential of digital technology to spur innovation, economic growth, and societal well-being.
According to the bill, the Strategic Oversight Committee (SOC), the Pakistan Digital Commission (Pakistan Digital Commission), and the National Digital Commission (NDC)
