Karachi: In a startling development, the son of Rapid Response Force Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Azfar Mahesar was allegedly under the influence when he was involved in an automobile accident.
Asher Azfar Mahesar, accompanied by two police officers, was driving in the Garden neighborhood of Karachi in a car with a government license plate when he struck a woman, gravely injuring her, according to the police.
According to police sources, Asher was apparently drunk when the incident occurred, and the gunmen who were with him used overhead shooting to scatter the crowd that had formed around the car following the incident.
Asher has been arrested and transferred, along with two Rapid Response Force members and DIG’s nephew Mubashir Raza.
