Leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Zain Qureshi, denied any influence from the government and said on Monday that he had vanished at the behest of his father, senior party leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi.
“I could never think of voting for this constitutional amendment,” Zain declared in a video statement, labeling as “baseless propaganda” the rumors that he was a member of the National Assembly and supported the changes.
Zain also claimed that he was called by his father to Lahore, where he is still being held for an unrelated offense. According to his son’s comment, Qureshi argued that the constitutional amendment should not be approved in any scenario.
“Misleading propaganda is being spread against me regarding my support for the constitutional amendment,” he stated.
