Concerned over the sudden conclusion of the Islamabad demonstration, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shaukat Yousafzai claimed that the party leadership had “disappointed” him.
Speaking on News’ program Pakistan, Yousafzai claimed that the party leadership had not given clear instructions during the three-day demonstration that started on November 24.
He noted that no other leader has stepped forward to lead the protest, with the exception of Ali Amin Gandapur, the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Yousafzai claimed that the leadership’s lack of planning and engagement was particularly apparent in the choice to concentrate on D-Chowk.
He also questioned why no attempts were made to hold talks in spite of the government’s offer.
