The National Electric electricity Regulatory Authority (Nepra) received a request from the electricity distribution firms (Discos) on Tuesday asking for an additional Rs51.88 billion in customer payments.
Details indicate that the Discos had requested the sum for the 2023–2024 fiscal year’s third-quarter adjustments.
The required amount was split between Rs5.57 billion for operating and maintenance expenses and Rs31.34 billion for capacity payment.
Furthermore, if authorized, this rise will also affect Karachi customers.
On May 17, the Nepra is slated to evaluate the request.
