She battled and defeated womb cancer before undergoing an 18-month IVF process to become pregnant.
“We were happy, we felt all our dreams had come true and the 18-month treatment was worth it,” she stated.
We reasoned that because this is all behind us now, we can move on and in nine months bring the baby home.
On August 19, 2019, their daughter Jaya was born at 22 weeks gestation. That following day, she passed away.
She lived at birth. She stopped breathing after spending 14 minutes with us, Vaishali continued.
Vaishali claimed that although she was informed she was “high risk” throughout her pregnancy, she did not receive any extra treatment, such as scans or blood testing.
She also said that after telling midwives about her strange symptoms, they disregarded her worries.
Vaishali is aware that baby deaths are not uncommon—every day in the UK, some 13 babies pass away before, during, or soon after birth.
However, she called it “disgusting” that there are still glaring disparities in the outcomes for newborns born in the UK to different ethnic backgrounds.
