One of the most recognizable voices on UK radio, the seasoned radio host passed away in February at the age of 69.
According to the certificate that the news was able to get, the causes of death were a ruptured stomach peptic ulcer and acute peritonitis.
A perforated ulcer is a less common consequence that occurs when the stomach lining bursts apart, whereas peritonitis is an infection of the stomach lining, according to the NHS.
Wright’s death at an apartment in central London’s Marylebone neighborhood “was unexpected, but is not being treated as suspicious,” according to a prior statement from the Metropolitan Police.
In May, the Westminster Coroner’s Court declared: “Mr. Wright will not need an inquiry. It appears that the coroner has closed this case.
In 1980, Wright started hosting weekend shows on Radio and the following year, he introduced Steve Wright In The Afternoon, the program that would come to define his career.
After a spell at commercial radio, he returned to radio in 1996 to broadcast Sunday Love Songs and Steve Wright’s Saturday Show. Three years later, he hosted Steve Wright in the Afternoon on the radio every weekday.
