TOBA TEK SINGH: In a significant move, the forensics report has ruled out the possibility of rape in the murder case of Maria, who was reportedly killed by her father Abdul Sattar and brother Faisal in Toba Tek Singh.
The Punjab Forensic Science Agency’s DNA report, which disproves the police’s previous theory that Maria, whose body was dug up for a postmortem last month, was killed by her father and brother in order to cover up their rape and sexual assault of the deceased, states that the victim was not raped.
Due to a 14-day judicial remand imposed by a judge, the accused, who are presently being held in district jail, are suspected of raping the victim, leading the police to previously allege that the victim was four months pregnant.
The incident came to light last month when a video that appeared to show Faisal strangling the victim on the evening of March 17 and 18, purportedly in front of Abdul Sattar and other family members, went popular on social media.
The forensic analysis report has also certified the video that Faisal’s brother Shahbaz and his wife Sumaira took as legitimate, according to a police officer.
