Despite their devoted 58-year marriage, Dolly Parton recently disclosed the reason why her husband, Carl Dean, has not accompanied her to events.
The 78-year-old country music icon described how her husband “loves” music in her most recent appearance on the Bunnie XO’s podcast, Dumb Blonde.
He’s “not the least bit interested in being in it,” though.
When the Jolene singer won the BMI Song of the Year early in her career in 1967, she persuaded Carl to attend an award event with her. However, her “homebody” husband had something to say about the accomplishment.
Dolly informed Jelly Roll’s wife, “I wish you the best, but don’t ever ask me to go to another one of these damn things because I ain’t going.”
